Yesterday it was reported that Office Depot made a second refund payment to Florida’s Lee County BOCC (Board of County Commissioners) amounting to a 10% contract overcharge.

Whistleblower David Sherwin reckons Lee County Schools District (LCSD) should receive another $300,000 refund under the same contractual obligations.

Last September, Nukote the compatible ink cartridge maker and 20 year supply partner to Office Depot sued their #1 customer for breach of contract with a massive  damages claim of $217m.

Depot had forced Nukote into Chapter 11 administration  in June 2009 after failing to pay their overdue account. We spoke to Russ Mack, CEO of Richmont owners of Nukote to determine the latest status of the case.

You couldn’t make this up! What possessed the board of Office Depot to release a 6 minute You Tube video of BSD president Steve Schmidt pleading innocence over allegations of fraudulent overcharging of state and local government contracts?

It was pure Bullschmidt propaganda. A pseudo-sincerity pitch, full of cliches championing Depot’s “integrity” and “highest degree of ethics”. Again there were absolutely no specifics, only loose attacks on critics, the media and the official whistleblower  David Sherwin.
